FOTOinformator 3/2015

Z dzióbkiem i bez, z potrzeby i bez potrzeby.

The problems with the performance by the participants of the competition rules of the Rules of WPP was loud right after the announcement of the results of this esteemed project. Slightly less publicity was perceived by the jury of one of the winners - Giovanni Troilo. It turned out that the shooting has improved a little reality. It seems that by submitting photos of the competition was mistaken goals - rather than participate in the contest of artistic photography images sent photojournalism contest. Ironic? Probably not - after all, if not outrage the mayor of the town and then, when the case came to light - as other photographers, probably nothing would have happened. And where professional ethics, I ask? Where ...?

I recently watched morning show in some conversation about Selfie. More and more fashionable word, whose career develops in unheard-of pace through smartphones already common. Everyone is making a Selfie. With the spout, and without the need and without the need. Over time, some Selfie grow to the level of a document of the era, the vast majority will be for ever to fly in space. It is meaningless to discuss what is Selfie - the easiest way to tell: a self-portrait made with the camera held in the hand (although there are already sticks helpers). If so, does the camera (smartphone), set on a tripod gets Selfie or ordinary self-portrait? In the context of discussions about which I write in the first sentence Selfie talked about - it seemed that this college photographic initiation than the usual self-portrait. In the end, self-portraits were created since ancient times and there are ordinary. Who would want to invite to the studio photographer who makes self-portraits? It's not what Selfie.

And so it is - a new (even if already in some form was before) inspire you. Old passed over in silence. It must be remembered that this new will ever be too old.
